Most Popular Finds for Year 1!

We can’t believe we are celebrating a year since we launched Followthefind.com! We’ve rounded up some of your favorites from the past year. Whether you are new here, or missed it the first time, we hope some of these finds will help you finish off your home, too!

It’s awesome that you guys love these items because we were amused to see just how many of these we have in our actual homes. (We’ve marked the ones we own with a *.) As much as we love stumbling across a statement making find, this list proves that you all love to save on a good basic as much as we do. Most of these finds are the perfect backdrop for many fun, collected pieces that each of you are using to decorate your space.

As always, you can search our site for something specific (like dining chair) to see past posts. Because not everything has a look for less (but oh, how we wish they did!), we also have spent some time pulling our favorites. You can shop 16 categories here for some curated roundups.

9. Sisal Rug* - Found here or here . We have 4, and have purchased multiple places, depending on who is carrying it for the best price! We have 8x10s and 9x12s in the Marble color, along with a 2x13 runner. They’re pretty soft underfoot for sisal, as this style is an especially tight weave. We also have plans to potentially use these as foundations for layering when we find that perfect deal on a vintage rug.

8. Scallop Umbrella - This look for less is a no brainer, especially for you traditional homeowners! It comes in and out of stock in white, so check back if you’ve got your eye on it. You’ll especially love having this find as the summer days are finally upon us!

7. Gold and White Nightstands - Finding small, but stylish and affordable nightstands is always tricky. These fit the bill with a drawer, sleek design, and great price. Our followers love this find!

6. Leopard Throw* - This throw also comes in over 20 colors and patterns. It’s the perfect size for the end of the bed or back of a chair. Easy to wash and wears well . We love this as a gift idea, too!

5. Etsy Prints* - pair with these frames. We have the classic set of four, and both purchased for our homes. We coincidentally chose the same royal blue color, but the Etsy shop offers multiple choices if you need black, gray, tan, or a fun brighter color. They make such a statement for $40!

4. Curtain Rod* - We have several of these in gold and black. Hang them high and wide and it’s the closest thing you’ll get to custom rods for a fraction of the price. We typically buy weighted, lined curtains with header tape in a longer than necessary length, hem them, and use these pins and these hooks with this rod. Whatever you do, please hang these as close to the ceiling as makes sense. There’s no faster way to make a room look smaller than to hang a rod right above the window .

3. Live Fiddle Fig* - This one has definitely been a crowd favorite. Life changes when you can order LIVE plants from Amazon. Drop it in this basket for a a finished look, and then place it in a sunny spot with indirect light. At this price, you can afford to test your green thumb!

2. Small Momeni Scatter Rugs* - These come and go on the TJMAXX site, and we always try to share them. We’ve found this one elsewhere for slightly more (still an awesome price), but if you aren’t picky about color, then know that a version of this high quality Momeni Rug will come back, and we will be sure to share!

1. Gold Window Pane Lamp - Honestly, we never knew how much people needed stylish floor lamps! This was a surprise that it has been consistently popular, but the well reviewed lamp fits so many styles, that it has still been a hit! Also carried by Target, this acrylic and brass tripod lamp is also such an elegant addition to your home.

We hope you all have enjoyed the first year of Follow the Find as much as we have! It all started as a google sheet and a text between Laura and Rachel, and then was a simple landing page with a links to a few finds. We’ve come a long way! We have learned so much about running this little site, and we are so glad you have joined us.

We are so thankful for all of the kind messages you all send us, and really enjoy running this site in our free time. We both enjoy our full time careers, but having this creative outlet has been such a wonderful adventure. It’s one of the most fun hobbies we could ask for!
